We recognize how important our volunteers are to the success of the sale as it continues to grow over the years. With the increase in the volume of items and consignors, extra hands are needed. We truly appreciate any time that our volunteers can provide.
Volunteer Incentives
All volunteers will be able to shop FIRST at both Preview Sales. They will be allowed to shop one hour earlier at our Consignor Preview Sale on Wednesday night and at our Select 1/2 Price Sale on Saturday. Also, the more you volunteer, the more you can earn:
Who Can Volunteer
We ask that all consignors volunteer for at least one 2-hour shift. Spouses and teenage children are also able to volunteer at our sale. We have a few shifts that strong hands would be very helpful. All volunteers must register in order to be allowed entry to our preview sales. A sign-in/out sheet will be provided at the sale.

Shifts
Volunteer shifts are scheduled in two hour time-slots. In order for a consignor to earn 72% of their sales they must work 4 or more hours during the event. To earn 75% of their sales a consignor must work a combination of at least 8 hours during the event.
Consignors will be required to sign in and out each shift they work. In the case of a discrepancy, the final determination will be made by The Kids Sale. Please make arrangements for childcare during your shift. Volunteer shifts can not be inclusive of your drop off time and or pick up time. For example, if you are scheduled to work a shift on drop off day you will need to arrive early to go through the drop off process prior to beginning your shift.

Absentee Policy
All shifts are scheduled to insure maximum coverage during the Sale. In the event that you are not able to cover your shift we ask that you please try to fulfill your commitment by finding a fellow consignor to cover your time slot. Failure to cover your shift will result in no future participation as a consignor or volunteer. In addition, a fine of up to $7.25/hr or current minimum wage amount, no to exceed 25% of the consignor's earnings may be imposed and deducted from the consignor's total earnings. This is at the discretion of West Orange Consignments and will be reviewed on an individual basis with the final determination made by the partners of the sale.
What To Expect
Be sure to dress casual and wear comfortable shoes. Bottled water and light refreshments will be provided during all shifts during the set-up and take-down of the Sale. Expect to have fun and meet new friends that love to find great treasures among the consigned items. Providing a well-organized Sale with a friendly staff is our goal. And, we want this experience to be a positive one for everyone!
Pre-Sale Shopping
All volunteers and workers are invited to shop early from 5pm to 6pm prior to our Consignor Preview Sale on Wednesday night and at our Select 1/2 Price Sale on Saturday morning. This will allow extra time for bargain shopping. Sorry, no guests allowed during this special time. Wristbands will be provided at Drop-Off for early shopping entrance for our volunteers.
